“Your reactive dog isn’t GIVING you a hard time,
your reactive dog is HAVING a hard time”
Aloha! Woodland Woof House is a specialized daycare and boarding facility for reactive and fearful dogs. We understand that not all dogs can be with other dogs, or may have been turned away from other facilities due to breed or other behaviors. Not here. We welcome all types of dogs, but especially those that get turned away because we own these types of dogs.
The idea behind our business was born out of our love of rescuing dogs, and it all started with Chibs. He was the most lovable and mellow of dogs. But, people were quick to label him as aggressive due to him being a Staffordshire terrier or “pit bull type” dog. He loved being around people and other dogs, but was turned away from daycare and boarding facilities simply because of his breed. We have since rescued 5 more bully breed dogs, most of which are reactive.
We are a family-owned smaller facility, which allows us to give each dog individual care. We offer individual rooms to minimize sight and sound between dogs. Each dog is given individual walks, play time/enrichment, and feeding at a flat rate. No interaction, unless from the same household, is allowed.
*Due to the current canine illness spreading across the country, we are limiting boarding to eliminate shared air space. Hand washing/sanitization is performed before and after each interaction, reusable items are sanitized between each guest. Please inquire if you have any questions.
Please contact us if you are interested in staying with us, or want just to come and take a look! We encourage all potential clients and guests to have a tour.
Mahalo,
Jimmy and Mandy
What we provide:
• Daily updates for boarders. Unless otherwise requested, updates are sent around mid-morning (after first walks).
• Daily walks. We offer two in the winter, sometimes three in all other seasons. We have private walking trails in the woods or a running trail on our 5 acre property to choose from. Yard/play time is an option if your pup prefers this over walks, and included for those that have a little more energy than most.
• Flexible drop-off and pick up times. Sometimes, things happen: Traffic accidents, emergencies, life. If you are running late, just let us know and we will work with you on a reasonable solution.
• Beds, crates, bowls, blankets, towels and toys are provided. However, you are more than welcome to bring any of these items to make your dog comfortable during his/her stay. First time boarders are encouraged to bring their own beds for comfort and security.
• Medications are given free of charge, as long as they are not too difficult to administer. If your dog requires any medication, please provide enough for the duration of your dog’s stay plus an additional day with complete instructions.
• Refrigeration is provided for any food or medications that require it during storage.

Meet the staff
Our ohana (family) moved from Hawaii and moved to the PNW in 2018. We were brought up with the spirit of aloha in our hearts, and extend this to our clients and guests.
Jimmy
Dog walker #1, poop picker upper. With 18 years of law enforcement behind him, he knows how people work. However, Jimmy connects with dogs on a completely different level. He has completed volunteer training with the Southwest Humane Society and is a certified red-level (reactive) dog walker. He has a soft spot for bully breeds, big dogs, and sweets.
Mandy
Cuddler, medical, back up dog walker. Working as a night nurse, all she wants to do is cuddle (and nap) with dogs after a long shift. She mainly provides medication administration, medical attention to special needs dogs, and dealing with any gross stuff. With 20 years in medical and 10 as a nurse, not much fazes this one. Like her husband, she has a soft spot for bully breeds having grown up with them.
Ren
Dog walker #2, back up poop picker upper and cuddler. Having moved back from Germany after a spending a year there, he has been vital to the startup of the business. Ren coordinates walks with his dad, and enjoys playtime with high energy guests. He enjoys all breeds of dogs, but is secretly a cat person.
